8 Lovely Comments!

Top 5 Sundays 2012 sq large

Hey everyone!

I have to say that I thought this theme was going to be easier than I thought, but I quickly realized while preparing this post, that I love all the series I read and I don't want them to end hehe

However, there are some series that I LOVED for a long time, but for some reason or another I have taken a break from and they are still in progress, so, I'm waiting for them to be over so i can catch up LOL

  This week’s results:

Book Series I Plan to Finish in 2012!
  10 (47%)
Book Series that I Feel Have Overstayed Their Welcome!
  11 (52%)

The theme for today is:

Book Series that I Feel Have Overstayed Their Welcome!

But first, a little bit about this feature and the rules to join in…
Every Sunday I will post a TOP 5 list on the blog. It can be about anything and every week I'll have a new theme {You can vote on next week’s theme on my RIGHT sidebar!} and I will ad the Mr.Linky bellow the post so you can do a list with the theme and add you link to it.
Rules:
  1. Write a post listing your TOP 5 choices within the theme I chose (or was chosen on a poll) for the week.
  2. Mention this Blog on the post and link back to it.
  3. Fell free to use the Feature's image (there is a smaller size version of it bellow)
  4. After you've finished your post, add you link (of the post, not your blog's main page) to the Mr.Linky at the end of that week's post.
  5. If you don’t have a blog to post, just leave your list in the comments =)

This week’s theme is  Book Series that I Feel Have Overstayed Their Welcome!
*in no particular order

Undead Series
by Mary Janice-Davidson

I love Betsy and co. don't get me wrong, but I am tired a bit, so I took a break from it and am planning on reading it when it is finished LOL

Breed Series
by Lora Leigh

It's a very good and raunchy series, but I have grown a bit tired of it. I am hoping for a specific character to get her HEA, but other than that I feel that for this series i have read that, seen that.

The Others Series
by Christine Warren

One of the first series I have EVER read and I have all the books, but a couple books ago i got a little tired of some random characters getting a HEA =/ Again, when it is finished, i'll catch up hehe

Broken Heart Oklahoma
by Michelle Bardsley

Again, one of my first series, but the storyline got a bit confusing for me of late and I have decided to wait for a bit, before catching up.

It is a great series though!

Greywalker Series
by Kat Richardson

Another of the first few series I started reading when my reading addiction really took off, but since I read Labyrinth, I believe, i got a little tired and decided to wait for a few books to be out before going back to it =D

Summer! Now with More Heat!

By Michele Bardsley

Well, once again it’s summer in Texas (and it happens every year … go figure). Well, I guess it’s summertime all over the United States, but I can’t really speak to the kinds of  summers that people not in Texas are having. I assume, however, that Alaska still has  a glacier or two that calorifacient (um, a big ol’ fancy word that means “really damned
hot”) residents can roll around on naked.

That’s what I’d do.

You’re welcome for that visual.

What were we talking about?

Oh, right. It’s freaking hot. Now, sometimes when people talk about June or July or even August, they probably don’t refer to any of those months as “the time when the bowels of hell opened up and exuded its foul sulfuric breath upon the land.” Maybe we just say that in Texas (and parts of Oklahoma).

Well, I suppose I can do more during the summer than complain about the heat. So long as I stay in the air conditioning along with a big, cold drink (ice, ice, baby) then I don’t even think about the heat. Much. You know what makes the summer goes faster?

Books. And you know which books are awesome summer reads? Mine. Okay, that may sound vain, but I’m hot, people. It makes me cranky. And also, vain. But let’s forget all that and talk about my books.

For instance, let’s draw attention to my Broken Heart books. (Hot summer reads! Wait. Too much? Yeah. Too much.) The eighth novel in the series, MUST LOVE LYCANS, comes out in September. Okay, that isn’t exactly summer, except in Texas where it’s always freaking summer. Except maybe a couple days in December. Maybe.

Anyway. The book isn’t actually set during the summer time. But who cares, right? It’s got a sexy werewolf, a psychotherapist empath, goddesses, vampires, Broken Heart action, and a big ol’ castle in Germany.

So, you know, a hot read. Hah.

Leave a comment about the summer, heat, my books, or whatever you want and you’ll be entered to win a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com. I suggest you buy books. Or a fan. Or a ticket to Alaska.

Lala's Book Corner Presents: Interview & Giveaway with Author Michele Bardsley

    50 Lovely Comments!

Hi everyone! I am so happy to have here today Nationally Best selling Author of the Broken Heart Oklahoma Series, Michele Bardsley!

I am a great fan of the series and it's my pleasure to have her over. You can check out my review of the series HERE

Michele has also been kind enough to check back during today to answer questions in the comments! Don't forget to leave yours!

    Giveaway info at the bottom!

Let's get on with the Interview...

    - When did you first start writing?
    About the age of twelve.

    - What is your favorite part of the writing process?

    Revision.

    - Have you always been interested in Romance?
Yep. I'm totally in love with love.

    - What about in the Paranormal? Oh, yeah. I love anything paranormal and always have--ghosts, demons, vampires, werewolves, dragons ... whatever it is, I'm all in.

    - Why writing Paranormal Romance? I love putting the weird into the mundane. We have enough of reality. It's a lot of fun to populate the real world with creatures of mythology and legend. And how cool is it to make those otherworldly creatures fall in love?

    - Were there any Books, Movies or Writers that have inspired you? I'm inspired all the time by shows, people, books, friends, the mall. Writers gather inspirations from everyone and everything.

    Favorites:

     - Favorite Paranormal themed Movie?
    Constantine

    - Favorite Paranormal themed TV Show?

    Supernatural

    - Favorite Paranormal themed Book? You've got to be kidding. One favorite paranormal book? Try a hundred or so, LOL. I love the Sookie Stackhouse series, the Undead series, the Vampire Academy series, anything by one of the League members (try them all at
http://www.reluctantadults.com), and the list is endless.

    - Favorite Author? Seriously. You killing me here. Me. I'm my favorite author. LOL.

    - Favorite Urban Fantasy Author? We have some great authors at the League, and I love all their work.

    - Favorite one of your Books? I'd have to say I'M THE VAMPIRE, THAT'S WHY, the first in the Broken Heart series. I really loved writing about Jessica and Patrick.

    Quickies:

    - This or That?That
     - Coffee or Tea? Coffee
    - Up or Down? Down
    - Virtual or Real? Virtual
    - Right or Left? Right
    - Vampires or Werewolves? Vampires
    - Reading or Writing? Writing

    -  The Broken Heart Oklahoma series in your own words?
What life would be like in a small town if a bunch of PTA parents got turned into vampires and suddenly had to live in a world they thought couldn't be real. In Broken Heart, it's now normal to have werewolves, fairies, vampires, and witches living in your neighborhood and serving you at the local eatery or garage.

    - Any plans for more Broken Heart Books? Definitely. Book 7, which is called CROSS YOUR HEART, comes out in September this year. And I have two more planned after that. Book 8 will be about my lycanthrope crown prince, Damian. It's about time he has his own story.

    - What is coming up next for you? As I mentioned, CROSS YOUR HEART is the next book in the series. It's about vampire Elizabeth Bretton and a sexy were-jaguar named Tez Jones. I really enjoyed writing their story.

    -  What are you working on right now? It's tentatively titled NEVER AGAIN, and it's the first book in a new series I'm calling The Wizards of Nevermore. The premise is that magic is real and that people are born with powers. It's a little bit darker in theme than the Broken Heart books, and I'm veering away from the typical paranormal denizens in the town of Nevermore. I'm very excited about getting write about this new world!

    - Do you have any advice or tip to those like me that want to become a published Author someday? The only advice I have is to keep writing and keep submitting. You won't get published if you don't finish a novel and if you don't send it out. Don't be afraid of rejection. Keep going, keep dreaming.

    - Anything you would like to say to your fans out there? I adore you all. Thanks for making the Broken Heart series popular. As long as you keep buying the books, I'll keep writing them.

Thanks so much for being here!

    THIS GIVEAWAY IS OVER!

    THANK YOU!

Michele is also giving away a SIGNED copy of the NEW book in the Broken Heart series, "Come Hell of High Water"

Lala's Book Corner: Oklahoma Broken Heart Series (Books 1-6) by Michele Bardsley

    20 Lovely Comments!

"There's a new breed of soccer mom in town-with fangs.

Does drinking blood make me a bad mother? That's the question single mom Jessica Matthews faces when she wakes from a savage attack sucking on the thigh of Patrick O'Halloran, a super-hot Irish vampire who'd generously offered his femoral artery to save her from death...only to make her one of the undead.

Jessica can't rest until the beast that did this to her is caught. Meanwhile, she's having trouble committing to Patrick (in the vampire handbook, physical intimacy costs you several hundred years of being bound together) and keeping her kids in line."

From Book 1 in the series, "I'm The Vampire That's Why" @ Goodreads.

Oklahoma Broken Heart is light and fun series. I read the first 5 books around the beginning of 2009 and Book 6 in January of this year right when it came out.

Broken Heart is a very small city in Oklahoma and when a bloodthirsty vampire goes mad and almost sucks dry some of the town's citizens, everything changes.

They are turned into vampires by the head of the 5 existing vampire families. Each one with its own set of powers.

That's the premise for the story of the series and in each book we follow the journey of each of these new turned vamps into their Happily Ever After.

I have to say that I love this series. Michele's writing reminds me a lot of Dakota Cassidy's and Mary Janice Davidson's style. Hilarious and sexy at the same time.

With each book the general plot and world Michele has created becomes more complex and even though there is a definite HEA in each book, IMOH they cannot be read as stand alone novels.

There is a lot of action, meet vamps, werewolves, dragons and a lot of lovin' too. The great about this series and I think what sets it apart from other PNR series is the homey feel of these characters. They were just regular people, singles parents trying to have a life and out of the sudden it changed and they had dragons flying around. That dichotomy is very entertaining read and follow.

My Favorite Book in the Series so far: Because Your Vampire Said So (Book #4), I love werewolves! =))

My least Favorite Book in the Series so far: Come Hell or High Water (Book #6). Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the book and I am definitely looking forward to the next book, but for some reason Book 6 wasn't perfect, but I'd give it a 3.5/5 for it!

I'll give for the whole series so far:

    Smut Level: 4/5 =)

Books in the Series in the order they should be read:

Tomorrow Michele Bardsley will be stopping by here for an interview and she will be giving away a signed copy of the new book in the series! She will be also dropping by throughout the day to answer questions, so stay tuned!

You can still win a signed copy of Blood Magic HERE!!
